Remix Ensemble reviews the works commissioned by Casa da Música to six of the most important national composers, showing the diversity of styles in the Portuguese music scene. The most recent piece belongs to Pedro Amaral, a fascinating construction around the version of Fausto according to Fernando Pessoa. Premiered in 2007 by the Klangforum Wien under the direction of acclaimed conductor Sylvain Cambreling, Tombeau de Marie Stuart, by Chagas Rosa, is a piece with an exquisite sonority and great rhythmic energy, and is part of the Remix Ensemble’s repertoire. Written for a concert in honor of John Cage, All-in-One by Carlos Caires was much-admired when it premiered at Casa da Música. You should be blind to watch TV highlights small fragments with the sound and visual impact that characterizes the works of Igor C. Silva. The program also includes pieces commissioned by Porto 2001 to composers Luís Tinoco and João Pedro Oliveira, introducing a new version of Le chant de l’oiseau-lyre.
